This is preciously what I’m feeling right now—I went to Paris this weekend, but I can’t figure what I want to write about it in order to convey the memories perfectly. It was one of those weekends that no words will be able to explain how perfectly perfect it was.
And all that sounds like such an exaggeration, blah blah blah, but I don’t know what other way there is to...

Bitch bitch bitch whine whine whine
I went to bed 3.5 hours later last night than I had anticipated.
Which means I rolled out of bed 2.5 hours after I had planned to this morning.
So I didn’t make it to the gym to get my tempo run/bike ride in.
Instead, I headed straight to Panera to start studying.
I’ll be here until 4 pm. Hopefully I can make a study guide in seven hours.
Finals week: 1.

So I started a blog.
Like, a real blog. I don’t really consider Tumblr a blog, exactly; it’s too much about reblogged images and excerpts (both of which I love) but not enough about writing. Plus, I feel like you can’t be super personal on Tumblr because no one wants to read a 1,000 word post about really anything.
Oh, and it’s a running blog. Um, what? I run? Enough to make a whole blog...

My afternoon consists of -watching the new Modern Family -organizing the shit out of my room. It’s time to rotate all my summer clothes in favor of my winter wardrobe. Plus organizing is possibly the most relaxing activity ever for me. -laundry. lots and lots of laundry -getting a head start on outlining a chapter for my communications law class. It’s 89 pages, and the week of the...

“You’re a son of a bitch, You know that? She bought her first new car and You hit her with a drunk driver. What? Was that supposed to be funny? “You can’t conceive, nor can I, the appalling strangeness of the mercy of God,” says Graham Greene. I don’t know whose ass he was kissing there, ‘cause I think You’re just vindictive. What was Josh Lyman - a...

There’s this idea in journalism that you are supposed to write like a fifth grader so your words are available to the masses in the most clear-cut way.
I don’t agree with this at all. While I agree you shouldn’t add words into your writing just for the sake of using an eight-syllable word when a three-syllable one would clearly suffice, if that eight-syllable word gets your...
If I was into Instagraming my life, I would post a picture of the table I am currently sitting at at Starbucks because I feel like I look kind of ridiculous:
-huge Nalgene water bottle
-iced coffee
-recorder
-reporter’s notebook
-cell phone never leaving my sight
-baggie of apples and baggie of cucumbers and red peppers. I feel like that mom who always has snacks with her. I also feel...

Although I’m not running the Dunder Mifflin Scranton Rabies Awareness FunRun for the Cure tomorrow (I wish, especially if Jim were there), I WILL be running the Susan G. Komen 5K. I signed up for it on a whim a couple weeks ago when I was avoiding the gym. Ahhh, productivity.
I’m excited for it for a few reasons:
1—my outfit is completely pink, except for my shirt, which is...

How a perfectly normal Thursday turned out to be a...
I actually woke up in time to stop and get coffee before my 9:30 class. Bonus: I saw one of my close friends already at Starbucks where she had me read a couple of the articles she was working on. There are few things I love more than settling down at my favorite table (the big community one, always) with a piping hot Americano and copy editing.
The fact that my only class on Tuesdays and...
I don’t have a deep, intense flashbulb memory of what happened that day—but isn’t harrowing to think that just saying “that day” brings to mind the exact same day to thousands of different people?
I was in Mrs. Means’ fifth grade class, but I don’t remember much else. I remember Mrs. Means frantically searching for bunny ears to make the TV a little less...
Our relationships became as strong as the coffee...
It’s 8:15 in the morning, and I am up working on journalism. Again. I was up until 2 a.m. editing, but I just couldn’t finish it. Who spends upwards of 10 hours on something that isn’t even going to be published?
But it’s about my friends and coffee and how the two connect, and it’s way too fun a topic to explore to not spend so much time on it.

Overheard on Campus
Girl 1: I don't know, I kind of liked their shirts, but they were weird.
Girl 2: Yea, I mean, they said "Pretty Little Liars", but they spelled it "Pretty Little Lyres". What's up with that?
Girl 1: I think that the Lyre is like, their house flower or something.
Girl 2: Wait, what's a lyre?
Girl 1: I don't know.
---------------------------
Now I understand some of the cliches said about state schools. Also, I think I own the shirt they are referring to.

My Saturday night be poppin', yo
Failed Jason Derulo concert (failed meaning the sound system was off, he was lip syncing and the opening act was just a DJ mixing Top 40 songs. Also, it was mostly freshmen and felt way too much like a middle school dance to be enjoyable).
Finally cleaning my room because the only time I spent in it in the past two weeks have been to sleep. All my other time has been spent in a cave at my...

And there are few things more nerdy than loving school supplies. But I’m obsessed. Cute notebooks, blue pens (the only color I use), that perfect tote bag that basically holds your life during the school year—I can’t get enough of any of it.
And all of this:
Lilly agenda
brand spanking new notebooks and folders (a mix of Lilly and Vera)
laptop with its new sleeve (which...

When I grow up, I want to be a writer
Copy editor
Magazine editor (especially for a publication in the South)
Or honestly, holding any job at a magazine. Even if I don’t make it on the masthead, just knowing I had a hand in helping put the publication together would satisfy me.
Speech writer
Some sort of writer in social media—blogging and getting paid for it? Yes, please

My idyllic life: food blogger
All I want to do is make a food blog and bake and take pictures with a camera that isn’t a point-and-shoot and meet other food bloggers and have people actually like what I post and somehow make a life out of this.
Did I mention I have a huge sweet tooth? Naturally, my hypothetical food blog would soon morph into a sweets-and-pastries (which I know is completely redundant) blog, which...
